Our Five Pillars
alpha Kappa Delta Phi was founded upon the principles of Sisterhood, Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Asian American awareness. The purpose of our sorority is to promote these values in our University and community, while maintaining a sense of individuality amongst our diverse group of women. Throughout the year, the sisters of alpha Kappa Delta Phi continually organize and participate in events which help us further our dedication to such values.
Sisterhood
One of the pillars of our sorority, sisterhood is the special bond we all share, not only within our own chapter but across the nation. Whether it’s taking road trips to visit other chapters or just having coffee together, it is at the very heart of our sorority and of each individual sister. We hold regular sisterhood events just to relax, have fun, and get to know each other even better!
Scholarship
The sisters of alpha Kappa Delta Phi are held to high academic standards in their time as part of the sorority. We recognize that our primary goal at Penn is to obtain a valuable education that will enrich our lives beyond college doors, and thus, we maintain focus and determination throughout our studies. The sorority Academic Chair both motivates and supports each and every sister in achieving and maintaining a great academic standing, but our sisters are internally driven to achieve academic success and seek ambitious goals. The alpha Kappa Delta Phi sorority also has a strong support network of alumni. Our sisters have gone on to prestigious institutions of post-graduate education, including Harvard, Cornell’s Weill Medical College, and NYU Law School. They have also gone on to high-level executive positions at various corporations, including Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, and UBS. We believe that with a sharp and motivated mind, and with a loving and supportive sisterhood, anything is possible!
Leadership
The sisters of alpha Kappa Delta Phi are leaders in the sorority, campus, and beyond. We understand that in order to inspire others, we must first set the example ourselves. With the enriching leadership experiences of being part of a great sorority, the sisters also apply their skills to other activities and fulfill leadership roles in other organizations. To take a look at what groups our sisters are involved in, check the profile page! We always strive to better ourselves and our community through our duties as leaders, and we understand that accomplishments are made through continued effort and enthusiasm. Sisters take pride in reaching out to their peers and in reaching out to the community. Whether it is volunteering at the University Hospital or making decisions as a board member of the Penn Taiwanese Society, the alpha Kappa Delta Phi sisters take responsibility and accountability seriously to better themselves and their community.

Asian Awareness
The sisters of aKDPhi are not united by a single ethnicity, but rather by the strength found in their diversity. aKDPhi strives to provide Asian American women on campus with a strong role models and to educate the community about Asian American issues. Here at UPenn, aKDPhi was a founding organization of APSC (Asian Pacific Student Coalition), the umbrella organization for all APA groups on campus. We also participate regularly in events such as APAHW (Asian Pacific American Heritage Week) and spreading awareness in the larger community through service projects, forums, and fundraising.
